Metering is an incredibly important aspect of photography to grasp. You might have heard about the exposure triangle but I believe we should be talking about an exposure square with metering being the forth side as it is equally as important to getting the correct exposure as your aperture, ISO and shutter speed.
We will explore how and when to use each of the metering options and how to use it to get some creative lighting in your shots.

Architectural photography can be a great way of exploring and documenting a city, whether it's your home or on holiday. Its about capturing not only the design and accurate representation of a building, but to have the shots be aesthetically pleasing to the viewer's eye. An architectural photographer makes pictures, not takes pictures.

In this session, we will be covering how to better understand Architecture photography and we'll be looking at ways to take some impressive shots and the camera settings to use.

I learnt a lot and came away understanding how to do freezing and panning and some good shots where it had worked. It was a really nice informal group. The small size was really helpful, and Jenny was really hands on and came round to check on each of us on a regular basis and was very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed it.

The photo was taken at Linford Wood an ancient woodland in the heart of the city of Milton Keynes, UK on an annual fungi hunt. I used the Olympus 60mm Macro lens. We found a cluster and I was over the moon as not managed to find one before. Although called The Amethyst Deceiver I did not expect such vivid beautiful colour.

It was a lovely day so my wife and I decided to take a walk around the lake in Verulam Park. We had walked the length of the park, taking photographs along the way, when I paused to see if I could spot any herons on the island. No herons but I suddenly was aware of a flash of wings. I lifted the camera, turned toward the sound and fired off a few shots this was the result. It is quite heavily cropped, but I am quite chuffed with it.

This place in the center of downtown on King Street always looks different depending on the weather, time of day, wind... This shot was taken along with 3000 others images on my first ever photo shoot during Covid. I hired a model I had seen and had come to do pool shots with another Photographer and he suggested I hire her and conceptualize the shoot. I?m not a professional and had no props but I bought some fabric and I used my leaf blower to make that effect. I periodically go back to those pictures and rework them with my iPhone apps for varying effects. You can see more of my work on Instagram. That day creat

Thank you for considering my photo for Photo of the Week! I have a number of bottle brush trees in my back yard, and birds love the blossoms when they bloom in the Spring. I usually see numerous hummingbirds and sparrows, but I saw this gorgeous bird one afternoon resting in the branches. I was able to get a couple of shots off before it flew away.
